A series of huge explosions at a military ammunition depot in Achinsk injured at least 12 people and prompted the evacuation of thousands on Monday.
Video captured by one of the local residents shows the moment of two massive explosions, with visible shock waves and plumes of black smoke rising high into the sky.
According to Russia’s Defence Ministry, a fire broke out in the ammunition facility which then triggered multiple explosions.
The ministry said that nearly 4,000 people were evacuated from Achinsk and nearby villages following the blast.
According regional Governor Alexander Uss, 12 people were injured in the explosion while one person remains missing.
Around 40,000 tank and artillery shells were kept in the base at the moment of explosion.
